Rhinelander

Racing season is upon us and before we know it, we'll be heading to Rhinelander again where camping is king. I'm going to contact Elvis to book cabins again, so if anyone is interested in staying, please let me know by May 9th and I can book something for you too. Thanks! Niki

I didn't stay in a cabin last year and I kinda remember some of what was said about them. It seems like cement floors was the deal. Do they have their own bathroom/showers and kitchens or is it simply a shelter on a slab? Also do you bring your own bedding? I guess one more question would be do they have heat?
Thanks.

They reminded me a little of staying at the Hilton. You do, however, have to create your own heat.

You've got it pretty much right...cement slabs with bunk beds. We brought sleeping bags to lay on top of the nice blue mats that are on each of the bunks (think about your kids school gym and you get the idea). No bathrooms or kitchen, but we stayed right next to them so it was fairly convienent. It isn't fancy by any means, but you get what you pay for. I think it was like ten or fifteen bucks. Depending on which one you stay in, you might hear some barking spiders through the walls...we did last year.

I checked on hotel options (there are not many in Rhinelander!) but I can get a corporate rate at the Best Western for $72.09/room, not including tax. If anyone is interested in a hotel instead of the cabin, let me know as soon as you can so I can get it booked. Not sure about the availabilty, so I'd rather get it booked sooner than later. You can email me at work so I get your message right away: nfrazier@amfam.com

Anyone who wants a cabin, I can take care of booking that too. Just let me know - I'll make reservations this week.

Thanks!
